The Cost They Never Saw
Every day, we’re off to something, Running after shadows, from summer to spring. Sometimes it’s hard just to breathe, No one ever knew what lay beneath. They were there, clapping, Talking about what I deserve — But they don't know what I have lost To serve the people I love. Those moments were golden, and the deeds were pure, Treasures of time, precious for sure. Lost that boy on a wild, crazy track — Young, wild & bold, never came back. Dreams once soared with the head held high, And now, the ghost of the days gone by. I'd love to go back to the time, but that's against the law — These are the costs they never saw. July 20, 2025
